sheet & dashboard access requests
requests used to go to both owner and admins now just owner. Is that correct?
I am the owner of many many sheets & dashboards and rely on the assigned Admin to assist with access requests.

From my experience, the request access has always been limited to owners, where the owner will then have to assign a sharing permission level.
I'm unsure whether this may be configured if you have an Enterprise-level plan. The alternative would be to transfer sheet & dashboard ownership, but I understand that this option may not always be applicable.
Update: there may be an exception for Brandfolder where Owners and Administrators can configure an access request option from public users: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2482918-Allow-Public-to-Request-Access

Not really solving my concern but is there a way I can defer access requests to the admin when I am on PTO?

Currently access requests only go directly to the owner. I would suggest adding in your out-of-office email reply the email address of an Admin that can help with sheet access requests while you're on PTO.

I just received an access request to my personal smartsheet under my own account from a coworker who received a smartsheet invite from a THIRD party outside of our organization. When she clicked on the access to view the third party smartsheet, I received the request to view MY smart sheet account.

You mentioned that access requests ONLY go to the owner, however this past week, I (am an Admin) have been receiving a ton of user requests. The same is true of many other admins here at my company. Why is this and what can we do so everyone is not flooded with these requests?

My comment above was from January but there has been an update as of March 25th, 2024! 🙂 Access requests are now also sent to Admins on those items since assets are owned by a plan, not a person. Here's more information: Changes to asset Admin permissions and new Plan Asset Admin role, now generally available!
