Dollars and Cents entered on a form not translated in currency to the Sheet

Our employees fill out a text number form and the corresponding column is set to currency, however, if the amount is "1537.40" and our employee enters "1537.40", the column returns a value of "1537.4" I looked in the forums and could not find a solution to this. If we set the column to currency for default, why does it not allow this formatting? It instantly wants to put two zeros and a decimal point on the end of WHOLE numbers, but not numbers that contain cents. Is there a formula work around this?

Is the sheet set to 2 decimal points? If it's only showing one, you can adjust it to 2 decimal places using the green icon below.
