Pulling past data

Hello,

I'm interested in pulling past data of when a trigger happened in a particular cell. We use smartsheets for project management for our creative projects, and I'm curious how long it took from when the project was supposed to be done vs when it was completed. We have a check box on a cell that a person clicks when the project is complete. I'm trying to pull past data from when someone checked that box to determine that date. Is there a formula for me to use to pull when that checkbox was checked?

I see that smartsheets tracks that information because I see it in the activity log. I was wondering if I could pull that data.

• You can use a workflow to register the date something was changed and then calculate the difference using helper columns.
• If you need the time, you can use my method described below.
