I am not seeing anything right off that would be causing that error. The image is a little small on my screen, so I want to confirm... Is there a space between the < and > in each instance? It looks like it could be, but I am not sure.

Yeah there is, that was one thing I tried yesterday. I did it with a space and without just to try different things.

So essentially what is that formula saying?

If 'Overall Completion is greater or less than 1, or 'Stage 1 Complete' is greater or less than 1, count 'Open Items' in fields between rows "Field check... - Cable Code Check" and so on?

I am stuck. Any other suggestions?

It basically says If the section complete is not checked (<>1) then COUNTIFS how many in the section read "Open Items" then add them all together.

Yes, that seems to be what I need it to do. Do you have any suggestions on another way I could do this? I am stuck .

Could we add to the original formula, that is showing the listed open items (below) to have only the following columns moved and locked onto a separate 'Opens History Sheet' when any open's are noted?

I dont want to move the whole row. just columns 1,2,3 and the last (2) columns. Could look something like this?
