March Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
February’s question was so much fun, and it was a joy to read through your childhood dream. Some of you wanted to be Presidents, pediatricians, and rocket scientists, while others wanted to be singers like Dolly Parton, professional tap dancers, UPS drivers, and so much more!
Now it’s time for a new question & the opportunity to earn badges and points while getting to know your peers.
What song do you listen to when you need to feel motivated and why?
Let’s transform the comments section into our very own motivational playlist, shall we? Can barely wait to see the songs that you’ll choose. 🤩

My go-to motivational song is from a Cincinnati, OH band's debut & self-titled album; Walk The Moon. More specifically, the song Anna Sun is about a young college kid who's fallen in love, and doesn't need money or material things, he's just focused on the passion and love he has.
It's a very upbeat song that you can dance to and one that gets the blood pumping, while being reminiscent of positive and carefree times in your life.

I'm a huge fan of What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. I just makes me smile every single time I hear it.

My fav of all time is one of Mika's from his album Life in cartoon motion, which sounds really cool!
The song is called Grace Kelly, it is so upbeat and uplifting ... and with this song, my energy level are sky rocketing 😁and give me the boost I need.
I tried to be like Grace Kelly, mmh
But all her looks were too sad, aah
So I tried a little Freddie, mmh
I've gone identity mad!
I could be brown, I could be blue, I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful, I could be purple, I could be anything you like
Gotta be green, gotta be mean, gotta be everything more .....

My go to song is quite funny when I think about it. It's actually Get Low by the Ying Yang twins. I love the beat to that song and I visualize Sandra Bullock and Betty White from The Proposal when listening to it. It always makes me smile, I always bust out singing it and things immediately get better.
Maybe fun fact......even on meetings when things get that awkward silence like at the beginning while waiting for people to join. I may or may not start singing that song LOL

ACDC Back in Black always picks me up and gets me motivated. The beat gets the head bobbing and the brain prepared to attack whatever task is in front of me. Oddly enough it is also the song that calms me when I am beyond angry.

"Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. I recently saw them in concert and they are still amazing!

I love all these answers so much. I actually need a jam session on Spotify that I created with mashups of pump-up songs. I always turn to that when I need a pick-me-up. I love the different eras it has in it and it always makes me jump up with anticipation.

Old-school Chicago house music.

Oh my goodness! Just one!?!?!? I have an entire playlist called "Pick It Up!" because choosing a song seems impossible to me. Even scrolling through the list, I can't pick one so I'm going to give a top 3...maybe 5. 🤣
1) Give It 2 Me - Madonna - It's Madonna. I'm a hardcore fan so she can't be left off of any music I create. https://youtu.be/aQRLSBUNupg?feature=shared
2) I Lived - One Republic - I love the message of this song to just get out there and LIVE! https://youtu.be/z0rxydSolwU?feature=shared
3) Shut Up and Dance - WALK THE MOON - Someone else mentioned their music. So good. It literally says it in the name. https://youtu.be/6JCLY0Rlx6Q?feature=shared
4) Till the World Ends - Britney Spears - Another beat song I can't sit still during. https://youtu.be/qzU9OrZlKb8?feature=shared
5) Best I Ever Had - Gavin DeGraw - The beat of this song gets me every time and the gospel-esque breakdown? *Chef's kiss* https://youtu.be/NL2VBU604Jw?feature=shared

PS @Salèha El D. I love Grace Kelly by Mika!!!

When I need to feel motivated at WORK, I need absolute silence and coffee. 🤣
When I need to feel motivated in my personal life (like, to clean, or do the dishes, etc.), chances are I'm turning on my emo pop punk playlist (MCR, All Time Low, Panic!, ADTR, Sum 41...).

Collective Soul, Why Pt.2

The rhythm and beat shake me out of any funk, especially helpful on my drive in- if I'm feeling anxious about the day, or my drive home if it were a rough day. I think it blasts the negative emotions away, leaving room for an upbeat, ready to tackle anything attitude. On a day where I need to command focus, I'll play it into my earbuds a few times, while at the office!

I love so many different types of music, so my song changes depending on my mood, where I am in my life, etc. Currently, it is This is Me from The Greatest Showman soundtrack. My niece sang this for her 8th grade graduation during the pandemic lockdowns. Everything was done remotely, so it was just her and a mic and a couple hundred parents, teachers, and classmates watching on Zoom. This was such a power moment for a quiet, introverted 13-year-old on the cusp of young womanhood during a time of such upheaval. I was so inspired by her courage! This song gets me every time. 💖
