STATUS COLUMN Automatic updation

I need a help for automatic update of my job status.

iam doing metal work , and a single metal block is having more than 30 number of process. I had made each rows for each metal blocks and columns for planning . I have a status column , every day this status column has to update to current process.

please guide me how I can achieve this
