How to create a dashboard metric widget to automatically obtain the data template?
Dear friends, I am using the dashboard metric widget to obtain data, but I have not found a way to reuse it, it cannot use functions. I can create a new project form through a template, but when I use the dashboard, I have to re-select the data source. To obtain data for a new project, is there any good method to suggest that we can automatically obtain it through a template instead of manually selecting the data?

If you put all associated sheets, reports, and dashboards into a folder, you can "save as new" the folder and all links will update automatically.

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
If you add all assets to a folder or workspace, you can use the save as a new feature to keep everything connected.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Thank you very much for your response, it was very helpful. I have another question. How can I retrieve different data from the same data table? For example, I've created a progress tracking table A, which currently includes data for Q1-Q4, but currently only Q1's data is available, with the rest of the quarters to be added later. Then I've created a new project dashboard and used Metric Widgets to retrieve the counts of multiple statuses for each quarter's project. However, since only Q1 project statuses are available at the moment, if I add Q2, Q3, and Q4 to table A later on, I would need to manually modify each metric widget to update the dashboard. Apart from splitting the table into separate sheets, is there an automatic or hands-free way to update the widgets when new data is added? Thank you.

Oh, thank you very much for your response. I tried your method, and it works, but it requires saving each project separately. Is there another way to automatically update the widgets when new data is added to the same table, without the need for manual addition of widgets?
