Does anyone know what the 'empty' diamond means in a gantt chart?

    It is used for Milestones. Smartsheet will tag something as a Milestone when the duration is 0.

    In the screenshot the diamond filled in with black is actually the milestone for that task, the 'empty' milestone is actually the milestone associated with the predecessor. I'm wondering why there are two diamonds showing up on row 'Building Permit Received'.

    I don't understand what all the lines to the right where I have noted with #'d icons. Does anyone know /can explain what they are there for?
