Hello everyone. My name is Angela! I work for United Health Services and have been employed for 8 years. I currently work in the Project Management department within IT for out healthcare organization as a Project Management Analyst. Currently I am the primary admin for Smartsheet. We implemented Smartsheet about 2 years ago and I have since then been working primarily on optimizing and enhancing the solution for out organization.

Currently at UHS we utilize Smartsheet primarily for IT project related work, and are starting to venture out to other areas of the organization such as Human Resources. I would love to learn more about how everyone in the healthcare field is utilizing Smartsheet in various ways!

Hi everyone! My name is Travis Carlile. I currently work at Medalogix in the PMO as a Senior Program Manager (specifically for implementations). I've been using Smartsheet for about 7 years now (2 at Medalogix and 5 at my previous company).

I've utilized Smartsheet in a few different ways, but I primarily use it for Project and Program management in my current role. We utilize Smartsheet Control Center to more efficiently manage project intake requests and standardize our project assets across the program. This has helped us save time and effort when planning projects as there is not much deviation from our holistic plan's approach. I would like to continue growing our usage into different programs and/or resource management, but we are still a small enough company that we haven't matured to this level yet.

I'm interested in learning how you all utilize Smartsheet, which is why I'm in this thread obviously 😊

Hello everyone !

My name is Florian and I am a Quality Systems Project Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
I have been in my role for about 2 years and a half and I discovered Smartsheet a year ago ; I immediately loved it !
In Smartsheet, I have built a whole PMO solution for a big program, we use it to manage multiple project plans, roadmaps, risks and issues logs, and many metrics.
I used an Agile approach to develop this solution, using Smartsheet to manage requirements !
In the future I would like to use some more advanced apps, depending on the use case. In my mind, apps like Data Mesh, Dynamic View & Control Center could be of use to me. I look forward to hearing about use cases in the healthcare & life sciences industry. !

In the event that your team has not had an IT Audit of Smartsheet, I am available should you want some tips from our trial and errors that generated audit trail best practices. There is a reason there is a certain structure we have in place. Sometimes the benefit of a shorter distance from A to B might cost you future audit trail transparency when needed.

New Hire Onboarding and Career Laddering
1) Onboarding Program utilizing an adjusted version of the Project Management template.
2) New Hire Surveys to provide anonymous feedback of onboarding experience with partners, peers and manager.
3) Manager Survey for periodic performance feedback.
4) Activity log for audit trail transparency is great when a New Hire's probationary period comes with challenges.
5) Smartsheet API SDK backend audit log pulls for when challenging employees.
6) Automated notifications embedded based on business requirements.

Learning Center Dashboard
1) Customized LMS hyperlinked trainings.
2) Department productivity calendar.
3) New Content request so that the Learner can receive necessary enablement to execute successfully.
4) Content Change request so that the Learner can inform Designers when enablement is outdated or end of life.
5) Content Survey so that the Learner can inform Designers on enablement delivery success.
6) Embedded Smartsheet assets as tabs in MS Teams channel.
7) Automated notifications embedded based on business requirements.

Software Migration Testing
1) Software Migration Strategy Dashboard for Senior Leadership.

Department Help Desk Ticketing Tool
1) Utilize adjusted version of the Project Management template.
2) Standardize a Demand Specification Form and change request documentation.
3) Created MS Teams channel and embedded Smartsheet assets as tabs.
4) Python/SQL script to post SharePoint XLSX for Data Shuttle consumption into Data Shuttle connected to Smartsheet source. (e.g., Help Desk Team Contacts, Project Details for smart Assignment logic) I can explain in detail why this pathway which is really for audit trail protection purposes.
5) Ticket form where drop-down options are automatically dynamic.

Data Shuttle
Is still being developed as it is limiting from source selections.

Pivot
Similar to Excel but excludes the Report Filter for data population targeting.
This forces the Smartsheet source to pretty much be in 1st Order Normal format.

Data Mesh
Is still being developed as it is limiting to a 1:1 ratio instead of a 1:many. Frankly, we use Python/SQL scripts for the 1:many data mesh then post to SahrePoint as an XLSX for Data Shuttle consumption.

PowerApps & Smartsheet Integration
We are stress testing the capabilities out now, but, they are limiting. We are hoping that more advanced capabilities will become available next year.

Although that is long winded, I just wanted to save you time and inspire you as well.

Hello @Yvonne Smythe I do not have access to AWS RDS as that is not justified for my current role at this time. Wouldn't that be nice!

Normally I use Visual Studio as the Front-End Developer tool when Python scripting bi-directional actions between Smartsheet API and other tools. Smartsheet API is vast, but, still needs more capabilities like "get_rows" similar to "get_columns".

Hello There! I'm Jennifer Neely, Sr. Compliance and Credentialing Coordinator at Emory University School of Nursing. While I work in education, I work very closely with our Emory Healthcare stakeholders. My collaboration includes immunization tracking with our Student Health office and student onboarding/credentialing with our healthcare site coordinator. I started working with Smartsheet in 2018 and introduced it to my healthcare counterpart for a faster way of manging our student rotations. As mentioned before, I love, love, love Smartsheet and very happy to hear when different healthcare partners I collaborate with use Smartsheets as well.
