I prefer to use a period in stead of a comma for calculation, how do i set it up?

smartsheet does not calculate when I use a period in my calculations but if I change it to a comma it does calculate. I prefer to use a period since it is easy on my calculator pad on my computer. I am sure it is just a setting - can anybody help me set it up right thanks
