Best way to capture data from the field
Attached is a picture of a daily report form that we capture from each crew on a daily basis. These are done on paper and handed in weekly. Looking into how we can utilize smartsheets to get this information on a daily basis and digitized. My first thought was to create a form to gather all this info, I soon realized I will have more than 100 columns to capture for all the possible trucks, deliveries, and subcontractors. Wanted to see if anyone has come up with something better than a very lengthy form. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Hi @Bwoods113
Could you create a sheet with just the columns that you have on the paper sheet and use a drop down for each truck, delivery, subcontractor?

Has anyone solved this issue yet?

I agree with @KPH. Use just these columns and have multi-select options.

@JLuke We ended up creating a large sheet with a bunch of columns, but we use document generation to put it onto a pdf that consolidates everything nice and neatly. The foreman out in the field use a form with a ton of cascading logic built into it so when you first open the form there are only about 15 fields and as you fill it out you uncover more as needed.

Are you willing to share? Please sanitize anything that I don't need to see. Would be really helpful. Otherwise I am running down a MS Forms path that I really don't want to do.

@JLuke Absolutely, let me make a copy of the sheet and delete out all but a couple rows so you can see everything. What email would you like me to share it to.
