How can I create a rule that automatically sorts new rows by date?

When a new row is added automatically based on the date via an automated function, it is placed at the bottom of my sheet, while all existing rows are sorted by date. How can I create a rule that automatically sorts new rows by date?

You would need to leverage the API to automatically sort a sheet, but a Row Report will be automatically sorted.

Hi Paul, Thank you for your quick feedback. I am not quite sure to understand what you mean by "leveraging the API"

Smartsheet allows users on certain plans to access the API to basically write a custom code to accomplish certain tasks that may not generally be possible within the core app itself.

Adding a way to sort out by date a Smartsheet (let say start date) will really help in situations like calendar where you want to see this sorting happening automatically. I know that you can use reports for this but then you are not able to use the filter. It will be great to have this sort.
