Unable to convert column to a formula
I am trying to convert the following cell formula to a column formula to adjust the duration relative to the allocation percentage:
=IF(OR(Duration@row = "", Duration@row = 0, [Allocation %]@row = "", [Allocation %]@row = 0), "", ROUND(Duration@row / [Allocation %]@row))
The cell menu option -> "Convert to Column Formula" is dimmed out.

Hi @betcha663
I hope you're well and safe!
Ensure you're right-clicking on the cell and not the column.
Was that the issue?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

Hi,
Yes, I am right-clicking on the cell. In the pic below, the formula is in the yellow highlighted "Duration with Allocation" cell.
-
Is it set as a system column?

How do I verify that?
This is a newly created column
-
Check the project settings to see if it's used as the duration or similar.

The "Duration with Allocation" cell is not referenced, but the Allocation % cell is under Resource Management.
To test if that is causing the issue, I "Disabled" Resource Management feature, saved the plan and the "Convert to Column Formula" option is still disabled.
-
Also, ensure that the cell you're right-clicking on has the formula populated.

Yes, it does
-
Check this also. Is any of the below true?
Areas where formula use is restricted
These fields can't contain formulas:
- Contact list fields that are being used in resource management
- System fields (for example, Modified By)
- Default columns (attachments, comments, row action indicator)
- The following fields being used for dependencies and resource management:
- Start Date
- End Date
- Duration
- Predecessors
- % Complete

"Duration with Allocation" is a new column I created. I am able to insert the formula. It calculates correctly. It is not used in the project settings. The cell menu option "Convert to Column Formula" is not available.

So strange!
I'd be happy to take a quick look.
Can you share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

I provided you access to a slimmed down version copy. Please disregard the first message.

I figured it out!
You can't use column formulas on the Duration type column. I learned something new! 😉
