Sheet Summary AVGIF

I am trying to do a sheet summary using two columns. My first column is Audit Month which contains a month (January, February, . . .). The second is a score that I would like the average of but only for a particular month. Below is what I thought would work.

=AVG([Audit Score]:[Audit Score]), IF(CONTAINS([Audit Month2]:[Audit Month2], “January”))

I will also need to do this for each week.
