How to save formulae for future reference incase the sheets need to be rebuild

Hi Team

Can you suggest the best practice for saving all of the formulas used on the sheet. I have though saved copies of the sheets in a separate folder for reference but if there a way to download these SS with formulas in excel or word or any other format.

I'd either make copies or go into the sheet and add a star or other character in front of the formulas and expert to Excel or Google Sheets.
