Is there an option to make the date formatted to MM/DD/YYYY. Please advise

Can you clarify where you're looking to update the date?
You can set date preferences within your personal account settings: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/796268-adjusting-personal-settings#toc-settings
If you're meaning within a Smartsheet sheet, you can set formatting on a Date column using the top toolbar in the sheet:
