Is this a Bug or a Feature?
Hi There,
Trying to figure out if you have a column set to dropdown and allow multiple values per cell, when you go to create an automation for it, is it suppose to only let put it in as a if it changes only?:
why isn't it like a dropdown without the allow multiple values per cell on:
why can't I select a value in the dropdown?

Hi @Jonna Critchley this is because agree or discuss is a single select dropdown and recommendation is a multi-select dropdown.
Hope this helps!

@SteyJ 100% got that but trying to figure out if this is the way they intended it to work or if it's a bug.
Why wouldn't the automation let you select from a multi-select dropdown?
It's the same concept, trigger something when any one of these selections from the dropdown is selected.

I don't think it's a bug, maybe it's an oversight? I misread your original so I'm sorry for reiterating the obvious haha
For the multi select, you can do when changes, and then add conditions for the specific selections you want to trigger the automation for. It should essentially work the same just one extra step.Sincerely,

@SteyJ Brilliant and also very weird:
In the conditions it let's you choose, but in the trigger it doesn't, seems like that's not working as they intended, but I sincerely appreciate the use of your brain! This helps A LOT!

I would imagine this is intended but could still be improved upon.
With the single select, it is assumed "or" when you select multiple values for the trigger. Since a multi-select can have multiple values already, we would have to be able to specify if the trigger is for changing to
one of those things
multiple selections where one of those things is selected
multiple selections where all of those things are selected
multiple selections where some of those things are selected
so on and so forth.
You would need multiple arguments such as contains, is one of, etc., and has a variable and/or functionality. All of these things are already built into conditions, so it just makes sense from a programming perspective to leverage what is already there.
