Copy Attachment cross-sheet
Hi All,
We currently have 3 sheets, a master where there are close to 100 columns, a helper sheet with 15 columns & a sub master with 15 columns. There are further actions from there on. Idea is, everytime there is a new row added to the master, the helper sheet looks it up using Index Match & then the row is copied to the sub-master sheet. This was, I can restrict the columns that get moved using the in-sheet automations.
However, I also need to copy the attachments for each row to the helper sheet. Is this possible with some sort of formula or linking? Not that I am aware of. Or is there any workaround to getting the same output at the end of the day, with attachments?

Hi, @saaadshaikhh
You can use Workflow action Copy row. It includes also attachments to the row. More here:

You cannot copy or move specific columns.
Only rows based on conditions.
You can copy rows from a smaller sheet into a bigger one and only contain specific columns in the smaller sheet. But you can't remove columns from being transferred.

I too had a lot of issues with moving attachments between sheets.
The only solution i was able to find was using Power automate to log the Row ID from Sheet 1 which i used to create a link to that row and then using data mesh to move that link between sheets.
Smartsheet has a lot of work to do in the way of moving attachments between sheets as this is very complicated right now.

Hi @SmartWay360 ,
Like i mentioned earlier, i have been using copy rows automation all along. However, that feature currently does not support copying only specific columns, hence I have shifted to a combination of a helper sheet & Index Match formulas, to just fetch & copy the information from the columns we need.
We have been hugely successful doing that, just the last bit with the attachment remains. -
Hi, @saaadshaikhh
Wouldn't it work if you copied whole row (all column) and than create report with limited number of columns?
