Using a Password / Reference Key to Access Smartsheet Form

Hey there!

I'm looking for some creative ideas. I need to "password-protect" a ticketing form to ensure that only the right people can submit tickets. I can achieve this using form logic, but I'd only be able to use one password for all submissions, which defeats the purpose.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation and found a successful workaround so that each user is assigned a unique password and can fill out the form?

Would it be an option to have people require logging in with a Smartsheet account to access the form?

Alternatively, could you host the form on a dashboard and control access to the dashboard?

Could use the end-user email address as a logic to provide questions relevant to that user?

@Protonspounge, all great ideas and I utilize them as appropriate, but this team is dead set on a password "protected" submission. Thanks!

@Andrée Starå, the current process includes a member if the IT team sending outside vendors an email with filing instructions and they include a unique, single use password to complete a form that collects sensitive & confidential data in another application which they are trying to migrate from into Smartsheet. The leaders of this team are insistent on using a password to access the this same form in Smartsheet. their team would assign each vendor with a "one time use" password to open the form, which would be matched along with the form submitters email. I do use Dynamic view as well.

Is this information helpful, or do I need to elaborate more?

I have some ideas.

• A table with the secret code is set up in Smartsheet. The submitter submits the code, and then you can either have a prefilled form or an update request sent to the correct person.
• Using Dynamic View to check the code and show the rest of the "form" if correct.

What do you think?

Would any of those solutions work/help?

@Andrée Starå Both interesting ideas, and I will toy with them both, though I am not sure how "Using Dynamic View to check the code and show the rest of the 'form'" would work. What thoughts do you have on how this might work?
