Extracting data from a host server

Hi,

I work with a developer and designed a website for an organisation. On this website people need to fill in a form and submit it. This gets uploaded on a data server where it is stored. The data can be exported as an excel file, but I was hoping that through an API Smartsheet can collect data directly.

Is this possible and how?
