Pulling data into a smartsheet

Hi community,

Loving this space and the journey I am about to take learning this product.

I have some information in a big data warehouse that is used to pull information via api from another platform.

There is information that I would like to pull in from the warehouse to smartsheet so the information is accurate and automated.

Can you enlighten me how I would go about achieving this in SmartSheet in non technical talk.

You can use DataShuttle and set up mapping based on unique criteria that you set in the workflow builder. DataShuttle is likely one of the options in your waffle menu (the little 3x3 box menu) at the bottom of your Smartsheet page in the browser. If it's not there, then go to datashuttle.smartsheet.com and log in.

Apart from the DataShuttle you could use the Smartsheet API that would check for current records in the Smartsheet and compare with your Data Warehouse and write back to Smartsheet if a new record is found.

This can be scheduled to run every x minutes.

Can you please provide further information. What is the best way to configure the request from the smartsheet to our databwarehouse?

I'm not to sure if you worked with the API before but a good starting point would be to check the Smartsheet API Docs. https://smartsheet.redoc.ly/

You would need to configure a request to your Data Warehouse pull the data out and compare with the data in the Smartsheet (you would need to get the data via API). If a record is in your Data Warehouse but not in Smartsheet you will need to create a record in Smartsheet.

@smartsheetdev.io, would any of the above work to bring in info from a website?

***Use case - I am looking to see if I can bring in info from a county website (public info) into a sheet regarding taxes due for parcels we monitor for our customers. If I give it exact page to look at.
