Date Rules on Forms
Good Afternoon,
I currently have a solution that utilizes a form to collect information from individuals about requesting Time Off. They are asked to enter a "Time Off Start Date" and "Time Off End Date," and I am running into some data entry challenges. I would appreciate anyone's help with the below questions!!! 😀
1) Is there a way to prohibit individuals from entering a date in the past (prior to today)?
2) Is there logic rules or a different way to create a pop up on a form or prohibit form submission when an individual has accidentally entered the "Start Date" to be later in time than the "End Date"?

We can stop incorrect data being entered at the point of data capture. However, you can create an update request workflow and push back the row through a form to the submitter to amend. This can keep happening until the correct values are captured.

As @AravindGP pointed out, the value of a Smartsheet form is not reflected in the sheet until you send the input, so it is not possible to prevent irregular input using the sheet formula before the user sends the input.
So, I would add helper columns to check irregularities and trigger automation to correct the request.
The update request I received for 2nd-row input.

Alternatively, you can input the data using Google Forms using the connectors provided by Smartsheet. Then, you can write Appscript code to validate the input at the Google form before submitting it to Smartsheet.
