Sorting grouped report

HI Guys - i have report that is grouped by the primary column (which is the product code), it seems to only allow sorting by that primary column. Is that right? I used the SORT function and chose desired field and descending, but it does not work.Is there any work-around when rows are grouped?

The sorting will be applied within each group. Since you have it grouped, that takes priority. You would not want a sort to be able to break up a group.

Thanks Paul - it is the groups that I would like to sort. Each group (material) has a total of all the batches within it. I used a helper column with a SUMIF function to get each group's total. I would like to sort by that total so the largest value group is at the top (priority).
