Why can't I set a Default value for a 'Contact list" other than a registered user?

I have (2) two Hidden fields on my form.

One Hidden field is set to default to "Submitted" - this is working as expected.

I am trying to set a second Hidden field as an email or "Contact list" and when I save and reload the page, the field reverts to no default value. If the email is my own, the Default value sticks, but if it is an email that I entered manually, the value won't save.

(sorry I had to scrub some company information)

I understand you're having trouble setting a default email address other than yours. I couldn't replicate the problem, and my hidden contact fields save default values correctly.

You can test by accessing the published sheet and inputting new data from the form link in the Sheet Summary.

Thanks for responding.

I see from your screenshot the Values are saved. Can you confirm if the Email you used is a registered email in Smartsheet or one that is entered manually?

For example, I am using a shared email box; I have no problem saving if I used my own email so can you try something like: Test123@madeupcompany.com

Also, I found it interesting that My Form Feild Settings do not have a Validation option like yours.

It's a mystery. Validation is a standard feature. Can you see the validation option on any other forms?
