Why is my form email showing with <undefined> after it?

In a form I collect an email that is populated into a Contact List column. However I collect the same information for students and do not have this happen in that column.

It looks like it is pulling the email address in as the name and storing nothing for the email and then converting to a text/number type column entry.

If you create a contact type column and enter some contacts then switch the column properties to text/number, all contacts should flip from

First Last

to

First Last <email>

But it looks like you may have a bit of a bug in your system somewhere. I would suggest reaching out to support for this one.
