Can you attach Microsoft Word or PDF documents from your computer into a quick links widget on a dashboard?

    The quick links widget is really geared to true URL's. You can't attach a FILE - the file has to LIVE somewhere in order for it to be posted on the dashboard; Smartsheet doesn't have that capacity DIRECTLY. You can post links - as long as it's a URL link. So you can't link to something that has a path link like C:\Folder\Subfolder\File.pdf or \\server\folder\subfolder\File.docx

    There's a simple solution for this though. More and more cloud server backup services exist (Dropbox, OneDrive, and Sharepoint, for example), and online file hosting services (many of which are free) - as long as you can generate a unique link that starts with http://… or https://… you can post the link. You can even get creative to copy the little icon onto your dashboard as an Image Widget, and under "Widget Behavior" have it Open Another Site - and point it to that URL. So ultimately, the person using the dashboard will have a pretty similar experience.
