Meet Jake Gustafson, our July Member Spotlight! 🎉

Give it up for the one and only @Jake Gustafson, our Community Member Spotlight for July!

Jake is a Business Process Specialist at Otter Tail Power Company in Minnesota, US. While working at a manufacturing company in 2018, he was introduced to and knew Smartsheet at first as a “project time-tracking tool.” In 2020, he was given the opportunity to use Smartsheet University and took full advantage, reserving time to go through modules and learn as much as possible. Now, he is one of over 50 Community Champions recognized for their product expertise and generosity in sharing best practices and supporting others on the platform!

“I often tell colleagues or other Smartsheet-ers that this is my favorite user Community because of how responsive it is. When I’ve encountered roadblocks, there’s generally someone else in the Smartsheet-iverse that has gone through something similar and has a solution. The Community is great supplemental material to support the online training because of the real-world scenarios and experiences.”

In 2023, Jake transitioned to a new job in the electric utility industry that allowed him to explore more of Smartsheet, and he has enjoyed using Data Shuttle. “It’s been an amazing tool to implement automation and then continue to use Smartsheet once the data is refreshed.”

When he’s not using Smartsheet or connecting with others on Community, Jake stays busy with his wife and three kids with activities like baseball, hockey, hunting, CrossFit, traveling, and youth theater.
