I need a formula that counts how many tasks have a due date this week

I am a total novice when it comes to formula's and need help figuring out how create a metric I can display on my dashboard any item that is Due This Week, Due Next Week, Due This month, and Past due when the task is not in a closed status.

The first step is to create a separate calculation sheet from the main sheet or create a report of tasks which can be added to the dashboard. The formula will be based on the columns you have. Please provide more information.
