Nesting child cards in new board view

I have a couple of sheets that the board view will work great on. However, when I select to nest the child cards on parent cards, the status turns into "Uncategorized" for everything in both sheets. I'm attaching an image so you can see what I'm talking about with them nested and without them nested. Why won't the nesting work? Thanks for your help!

Submitted feedback on this very thing yesterday. In the old card view you could use level and or helper columns for parent/child etc.

Thank you both for sharing this feedback! While the new Board View does not yet offer the ability for users to filter by hierarchy level, this is something the Product team is aware of and is looking into as an update in the longer term.

You can submit your feature request to the Product team by creating an Idea Post in the Smartsheet Product Feedback and Ideas topic here in the Community.
