Checkbox Used as Input in Dashboard
Has anyone ever used a checkbox input from a dashboard in a formula to include/exclude certain data in a calculation for the dashboard?
I currently have a dashboard where I ask the user to input a date range that would be used to parse all of the data that could be shown in a dashboard to only the data in a date range. Here is what currently exists that is working:
I then work those entered dates into all of my formulae in my metrics sheet to calculate the median value or count of all of the data within that date range and display it in the dashboard.
I now want to add the ability for the user to limit some of the data being used in the calculations by checking a checkbox or two in the same dashboard which would exclude certain values in the median calculation or count.
It seems like my current challenge is that, once I have populated one or both checkmarks in my metric sheet, I can't enter a unchecked 'HOLD Data' and/or unchecked 'Strategic Data' box because the 'Submit' button is not active for blank checkboxes.
Has anyone done this and figured out a work-around? The only one I can think of is to also have 2 more checkboxes to then 'include' that data but that means 4 checkboxes in the selection widget as well as 4 checkboxes in the widget above letting the user know what they have chosen.

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
One way could be to add a helper column that receives the input and then have automation transform it to clear the checkbox or not.Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

, that is definitely my work-around if it can't be done without that additional user input to clear the checkboxes. Adding this "Include" checkbox which clears the "Exclude" checkboxes in the helper sheet. Is that what you were thinking? Thanks for confirming this possible approach.
