Sending images in automated workflow

I have appointment confirmation emails that are send via a workflow. I am sending a message only:

{{Name}}, We are confirming your appointment on {{Install Date}}, location is {{Address}}. Your Representatives are {{Installer}}, {{Jose}}, {{Erik}}. If you are unable to keep your appointment call us at 508-297-2900 to reschedule. A cancellation fee will be assessed without 24 hours notice.

I also want to include pictures of the service person who is coming to the appointment. I have 2 columns with each persons images in there. If I added the columns to the email it only sends image.jpg but not the picture. I tried to send the email with message and links to the columns but it sends nothing.

You can't code the msg section with {{image}} and get an image, it will only show the actual file name as you indicate. However I did just run a couple tests and if you have the notification include "links to sheet and specific fields" it does include the actual image. This worked for me both in a notification within Smartsheet and to my email inbox.

I tried the method you suggest but the images were not attached. I tried again and still nothing attached. I have attached the email and the workflow for you to take a look.

Hi @Christine419

In order for attachments to be returned in an automated email, you would need to select "attachments" in the "Links to sheet and specific fields" option AND the attachment would need to have been added at the same time as your trigger (or be the trigger themselves).
