Cross sheet reference formula issues

Hi all,

Formula-deficient SS user here! I need to pull a name from this sheet into another if a specific course is in scope for said person (Courses Registered column). I've tried index, index/collect, index/match, etc. I had success with a JOIN function but I don't want multiple names in a single cell. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

My destination sheet has the following: =INDEX(COLLECT({Student Name}, {Course Registered}, CONTAINS("388-001"))) yields #INCORRECT ARGUMENT SET. I'm not understanding the logic here.

Is your screenshot the source sheet or destination sheet? Are you able to provide a screenshot of whichever it is not?

Hi @PaulNewcome, happy to have an SME jump in! The OG screen clip is the source sheet. Destination sheet below. I'm trying to pull all student names (not in same cell) into the destination below, if they've registered for said course, as denoted on the source sheet. For example, in the source sheet, students in A3 and A8 both have 934-001, I'd like to pull their names over to that sheet.

How exactly are you specifying the "934-01" piece? Would that be in another column somewhere, or is that something that would be hard-coded into the formula to apply to the entire sheet?

Thanks for sticking with me Paul. It's in a drop-down list, Course Registered column, in the source sheet (1st, below):

There are individual sheets for all courses (934 above), and ideally we'd have a formula in the 934 sheet (destination) that pulls all students names in that have registered for said course in the above source sheet.

Have you looked into creating a row report instead?
