I need help creating a sheet that will track all updates made to a weekly status field.

I have a master sheet that has the name of every project and specific project information on it. I also have a metadata sheet that pulls data for each project based on the id number in the master sheet. I have created a report that will pull all of the projects assigned to me, so that I can update the weekly status column from one place. When that weekly status column is updated in the report, it populates the master sheet and the metadata sheet. I would like to keep a history of all of the changes on a seperate project sheet, so all edits are kept with the project documents. I am running into trouble because the metadata sheet pulls with an index function, and I can't figure out how to copy the row. Any ideas or other workarounds?

Thank you so much!

    Hi Vanessa,

You might be able to use automation to solve the problem, or at least solve the problem about being able to copy the rows. If you click "Automation" on your sheet and then go to the template named "Move a row to another sheet when specified criteria are met", you can use this template to move or copy a row when specific conditions are met.

    For example:

I can copy rows whenever my "Status" column is modified in any way. Then I copy rows to my sheet named "Project Change Sheet".

    Does this help?

THank you! I was not able to copy an indexed row…That is where my hangup is. I think I will just create a sheet that all updates are copied to and then a project level report filtered by project name to get the information I am looking for.

    I appreciate your help!!
