Timeline End Date Question

Good Afternoon,

I have a spreadsheet where I have a start and end dates of requests for certain services requested by our facilities. I like timeline view to see future requests and make sure there is no scheduling conflicts. My issue is, if there is no end date, it does not show a continuous bar in timeline view. It only shows a diamond at the start date. I need it to show a continuous line, as some requests are ongoing with no end date. How do I accomplish this?

Logically it would be impossible to have a continuous timeline with no end date.

By adding a durationand automatic end date is calculated.

If the duration = 0 then by design that equals a milestone depicted by a diamond.

This is common to all timelines / gantt charts regardless of the product / tool used so Smartsheet is just following industry standards.

If you want a continuous line then add an end date far into the future and maybe colour it differently to show it is not a "fixed" axtion
