Locking a Tab in the desktop app to a Dashboard

I have a dashboard that has links to all my Smartsheet's. It includes ToDo list for my team, system documentation and much more. The issue is I will go to my Dashboard and click on a link but then now my Dashboard is no longer open. Is there a way to lock a Dashboard to a tab or force the link to open in a new tab so my Dashboard is always open?

@Face If you get the actual link to the item (say from properties or the share button), and put that URL in the "Website" option of the shortcut widget on your dashboard, the item should open in a new tab.
