Card View: Can't sort by desired category

I would like to use card view for one of my sheets - and sort it by the "type of service" that was performed on our equipment. For some reason, I am able to sort my cards by literally every category but that one. The column is a drop down menu. Is that the reason I am unable to sort by that category? Not sure why I wouldn't be able to sort by a drop down column?

    Hi @Jmalthouse ,

    Do you have any further information on how the column is formatted? If you have "Allow multiple values per cell" selected that is a common issue with card view (since you would then have cards in multiple lanes).
