Workaround for Adding Rows Directly to Reports Without Using Forms?

Answers

Has anyone been able to come up with a work around with not using Forms to add rows to the report? My customer has the report that I created, and they add multiple lines a day. I just was thinking that it would be beneficial to have people to add rows while in the Report.

Hi @Mat S,
One workaround is to manually create a bunch of placeholder rows that your customer can override. This way they aren't trying to create new rows, but are instead using the rows that you already created and then adding information into them. For example:
Sheet
Report
Other than this, you would need to file a New Idea to help let SmartSheet know that this is important.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
In my client solutions, I usually use placeholders (activated rows) that are ready for input, and I usually group them so they are out of the way until needed.Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

@Andrée Starå how do you set placeholders (activated rows)?
-
You just need to add some information to any of the cells. You can remove it later if you want, or sometimes I name them Placeholders or something similar.
Make sense? Did it work?
