Messaging In the Community Forum

I would love to send private messages to a few community forum members. But there is no clear way to do that. Why is this not like any other community (like Reddit) where you can just click on a person, and have a way to message them?

I think there should be clear rules around messaging, such as no soliciting in messages and agree to have all messages monitored by Smartsheet to make sure this is being enforced. But there are times where I do not wish to create a post just so I can send a message and say hello to a member of the community.
