One user seeing nothing in current user report

I'm seeing the same behavior that @Annaleah Morrow reported in her initial thread 2.5 years ago. The issue is happening in a report (not a report rendered on a dashboard). User A can open it and see their reports but User B opens it and sees nothing despite having 15+ records that match the report filter criteria. The criteria are based on several 'Contact List' column types representing various roles on our projects. If a user's name is in one of the contact columns and meets the first two criteria, the project should appear on their list. Thanks in advance for any insights.

HI @Awalshga
What user is User B logged in with? If they are logged in with the same e-mail that is assigned to the contact in the cell, they should see it. If the user is logged in with a different e-mail, then it will not display.
Take note of the spelling of the e-mail in the contact cell too. It might be a typo.Marcé Holzhauzen

In addition to @MarceHolzhauzen's response, make sure the user is shared to the underlying sheet(s) as well. If the user does not have access to the source(s), they will see a blank report.

Great catch @Paul Newcome!

Thank you @MarceHolzhauzen and @Paul Newcome, I did confirm visually that the user is logged into SS with the same email that is assigned to the columns we are using to filter. She also has Editor-Can Share access to the underlying source sheet. A team of people uses this report, and she seems to be the only one who cannot see her stuff. I even added my name temporarily to one of the projects and could see it on the report.
We are polling a few other users today and I'm also creating a new and simplified version of the report using the same filters to see if I can narrow down the potential causes. I'll update here once I get that feedback. Thanks again and keep the ideas coming.

My next suggestion would be to remove all filters other than the by user filter. Then add them back in one by one to see which it is.

Jumping on with a similar issue… but think @Paul Newcome has hit the nail on the head - do I need to share the underlying sheet for users to see their rows in the report? I need the source sheet to remain confidential & secure so didn't want to share even read only access.
-
@Nixi Yes. Users must be shared to both to see it in a report. If you do not want to share any of the underlying data but still give users access, you would need to look into the premium add-on Dynamic View.

Thank you @Paul Newcome, dynamic view doesn't give me the row format to update but I think workapps might be a suitable workaround - just testing that now. Thanks!
