#BLOCK on Dashboard

  • Experienced the same problem and after recreating formulas from scratch in my summary sheet (NOT copy/paste) the "Block" shows up on my dashboard. The temp fix is to open my summary sheet, save, and the Blocks go away TEMPORARILY. Weird. Thoughts?

    Hi @RayD,

Have you had a look at the cells referenced by the formula to see if they contain any errors? The #BLOCKED error usually means that the referenced cells can’t be read. More information on the error can be found here: Formula error messages.

It might be that your referenced cells temporarily contain an error until they are updated (this might be if they contain formulas that require updating, for example if they contain the TODAY Function, which only updates when certain actions are taken such as when a sheet is opened and saved).

If you’re unable to find an error in the referenced cells, or you’re able to find an error but are unsure how to resolve it, could you share some screenshots (ensuring any sensitive data is hidden) of your sheet(s)? If we can see the full formula that’s resulting in the #BLOCKED error, as well as the full range of referenced cells, that should help us work out what’s causing the error, and how to fix it.

    Thanks,

    Georgie

  • Hi Georgie,

Thank you for sharing these recommendations. We explored nearly every avenue to resolve this issue

Here's the formula along with range of options attached:

=COUNTIFS({Active Submission Form Range 7}, $[Formula Input Dates]$2, {Active Submission Form Range 3}, "Ready for Review")

    Hey @RayD,

Just to let you know that the issue has now been resolved - you should no longer see the formula errors temporarily appearing in your sheets.

    Thanks,

    Georgie

  • Great news! When I read your message and launched it this morning, I noticed the

#Blocked issue everywhere. However, after refreshing my summary sheet, the problem disappeared. Everything seems to be running smoothly now! Thank you and your team for resolving this so quickly. If you don't mind sharing, could you provide a high-level overview of what caused the issue?

    Hi @RayD,

Sorry to hear you're still seeing the issue!

To confirm, have you saved the sheet after refreshing it? If so, could you try refreshing the sheet and saving it again? If you still see the problem after doing that, I'd recommend creating a support ticket and providing the following information so they can troubleshoot the behaviour in your sheet:

    • When you check the cell history of affected cells, are you seeing that values have flip-flopped between actual values and formula errors?
    • If yes to the above, please provide a screenshot of an affected cell’s history.
    • Approximately when (date/time and time zone) did you first see this behaviour?
    • ID of the sheet (open the sheet and click File > Properties, or right-click the sheet name in the Browse menu and select Properties, to find the ID).
    • The exact formulas used in affected cells.

    Thanks,

    Georgie
