Can a metric widget be a hyperlink on a dashboard?

I have a dashboard where I am trying to include a metric widget that captures a hyperlink from a cell on a metadata sheet. The hyperlink is to a SharePoint document.

The link does not carry over to the dashboard widget. Only the URL description.

Is there something I am missing or forgetting to do?… or is this not possible to do?

It isn't possible with a metrics widget, but it is possible with a report widget. Create a report that pulls in only this one cell and then surface it in a report widget. This works on both desktop and mobile.

Hi @Mike Ferringer - You can do this on a db. See screens below. I put a google link in a Smartsheet sheet (screenshot1) for the data source (Test header) and then set the action in screenshot 2. The box below was a shortcut widget in case you want to add the link. Hope this helps. 🙂

@Mike Ferringer - Here is a 3rd way I'd do it (Column 5). Add a hyperlink to the metric cell and when the metric cell is clicked on the dashboard the action set will take you to the external source data link.
