Unable to import an Excel or .csv file into Smartsheet

Hello, I have a file which was exported from a sql server and converted to an .xlsx file. The file only has one tab and contains 12K records. I am unable to import the file into an existing workspace in Smartsheet; upon first attempt, I can select the file, then select the primary column, but then the Smartsheet 'import' window closes without importing the file. No error messages where provided. I am on the Enterprise plan and I have a license. Can anyone offer some potential reasons why I'm unable to import?

Hi Stephanie,

Have you tried opening the xlsx file in excel and saving it?

If it was exported from a database with 12k rows there is a chance the file was corrupted.

If your file meets all the criteria listed here: Import files to create new sheets, I’d recommend trying in different browsers and following all other troubleshooting steps found here: Issue: Smartsheet is continuously loading, not responding, or not displaying certain items. 

If you’ve done all the troubleshooting above, the best next step is to create a Support ticket so they can investigate what’s causing the issue for you.

Hi Georgie, Thank you for your suggestions! I checked both links you shared (I only have access to Chrome), and none of the other possibilities applied, so I have submitted an internal ticket to comply with my org's protocols. Hoping the mystery can be solved shortly hereafter :)
