looking for opposite of =CHAR or the equivalent of excels =CODE

is there a =CODE() function, similar to excel?

in excel, CODE is the opposite of =CHAR.

CHAR: returns a character for a given number, e.g. 65⇒A

CODE: returns the number for a given character, e.g. A⇒65

This doesn't exist in SS, but it would be a great feature. Take a look through the "Product Ideas" tab at the top of this page. If the idea has already been submitted, you can add your vote. If it has not been submitted, you can submit it yourself to let SS know you are interested.

Either way, feel free to provide a link to the idea here as well so that others looking for the same thing that happen upon this thread can easily add their votes as well.
