Embed a published smartsheet calendar onto dashboard

I am trying to embed a published version of a smartsheet calendar on a dashboard but I need it to stay on a certain filter once it is embedded. Is there a way to do this? When I try this - the filter has not been "sticking". And just fyi - the majority of the audience that will see this does not have a smartsheet license which is why I would need a published version if I'm not mistaking.

@Kristina M Best way I can think of is to create a report from that sheet, use the report to filter, then publish the report as the calendar view.
