Stop autoformat to a percent

Hello,

I have a form that collects information on a person's effort on a certain project. The field is left open & not restricted to a certain value as it depend on the person/project what is best to enter. The issue is that Smartsheet takes some of the values & multiples by 100 so that I get 100% to 500% showing often, when it should be 1% or 5%.

Suggestions on how to prevent this from occurring? I also have automations that are triggered once a new row is added which includes an series of approvals.

Thank you in advance!

    Hey @RAC17

To prevent Smartsheet from autoformatting the effort field into a percentage, try changing the column type in your sheet to Text/Number instead of Percent. This will stop the system from automatically multiplying the values by 100. If percentages are necessary, you can format the field manually after submission or use a separate calculated field for automation purposes.
