Make SS real time?

We're currently using sheets that many people work in at the same time. We're constantly overwriting one another and for all we know, these are missed job opportunities that are never caught if we're not constantly going into each and every cell history. I'm aware that you have to save and/or refresh, but we're working in the sheet simultaneously so there is no way of knowing what cells someone is already in. Have there been any updates, or are there any plug ins that allow SS to update in real time?

Thank you, Michelle. We do use that system for some sheets, but for our schedules, I don't know of a way to make this work outside of having it be live. Each day on our schedule sheet has a limit on the number of jobs/ hours that are allowed. If we're submitting things through forms I think we could reach capacity without realizing it, but there could certainly be a way that I'm not aware of.
