How do you choose your file when adding a shortcut via OneDrive with the Dashboard Shortcut Widget

When choosing Attachment > OneDrive in the Dashboard Shortcut Widget, it just opens normal OneDrive.

Where am I supposed to be able to choose and add a file back to Smartsheet? Choosing any file once it opens OneDrive just opens the file instead of attaching it. Could this be caused by some permission settings in OneDrive/Sharepoint?

This change seemed to happen within the last week.

    Hi @DMcElroy,

I can confirm that this issue is currently being investigated by our Support team. While they continue to investigate this and work on a fix, you can try either of the following alternative solutions:

    Solution 1:

    • Download the OneDrive file and then upload the file selecting "Upload a file" instead of OneDrive.
    • Upload via the link option using the OneDrive file link

    Solution 2:

    • Select OneDrive from the Attachment option list
    • In the OneDrive window that opens, select the My Files icon on the left bar
    • In My Files, navigate to the file you're looking to upload and hover over it to select More Actions (3 dot button)
    • In More Actions, select Preview
    • The page that opens will allow the files to be selected for upload. Select the file(s) to upload and then click the blue Select button on the bottom right
    • The files will then upload to Smartsheet as expected

    Thanks,

    Georgie

Thank you for your response. The second method works great!

    Solution 1:

    • Download the OneDrive file and then upload the file selecting "Upload a file" instead of OneDrive.
    • Upload via the link option using the OneDrive file link

We are also able to do the link option currently but would prefer it be just the file. In regards to the first point above, that option seems to be gone, with OneDrive being the only option provided in the Shortcut Widget. Is this option located somewhere else now?

    Hi @DMcElroy,

Glad to hear the second solution works for you! Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon - I can’t provide a timeframe on how long the resolution will take, but the team is actively working on a fix.

Apologies, I should have clarified - the first method works when attaching files to sheets or reports, and also is an option in the image widget in dashboards, but is not possible within shortcut widgets in dashboards, so the second method will be needed for shortcut widgets.

    Thanks!

    Georgie
