Sheet Task bar colours are only sometimes transfering to sheet timeline view or a report

Hello, I am a new user, in a trial of smartsheet using it on Firefox. I welcome all advice or tips.

I have a source sheet of data. I created a new sheet pulling in some data and adding in dates to make a timeline. I have colour coded parents on the sheet 1st two coloums. Those colours have transfered over to the timeline view and report but only for 2 of the 3 parents (#5 and #6 items not #7 items). See 3 images below.

second issue

For child items, i have colour coded these on the sheet in timeline view, again, only some of the colours track over to timeline view and the report. 4th image

Is this a glitch b/c I am in trial mode? Or the browser I am using?

hi @RobinBW,

Only the children bars can be coloured as the parents one will be always grey.

Have you tried Conditional Formatting for making the colours automatically set up for the bars in the destination sheet?

Thank you. Yes I can see that only the children can be coloured. I colour them on the sheet - but when i push the info to a report - the colours on all of the children do not copy to the report. only some.

I don't want to format conditionally sadly. I am looking for each item to be a different colour (all children of a single parent would be the same colour).

hmmm I think it must be a bug or I was really lucky when I had similar case.

I also used some basic colours of the bars in sheet and when I created report of it all of them were there.

Maybe you can open the ticket with support and tell them directly which colours are not moved from sheet to report.
