Stacked Column Legend Shows Categories with no Values in Chart

Hello,

My dashboard has a Stacked Column chart. There are many data sets it's pulling from, but not all have values (see picture; of the 28 data sets in the legend, probably only 10 of them are actually on the graph). Is there a way to get the legend to only show data sets with values reported in the graph? Eventually this chart will be continuously updated (if I can figure out how to do that) to add subsequent months, in which case, the data will need to pull from all the data sets and report them if/when they do have values.

This is a very strange behaviour because whenever I build my graph the legend is only showing the data that is on the graph.

Have you tried limiting the columns visible in this graph?

Hi @kowal,

If I'm understanding your suggestion correctly, I don't think I want to limit the columns visible in the graph because I want the graph to automatically show the value for any of those categories if they do get a value, without the user needing to stay on top of it and update the charts every time that is the case.

I did not suggest you to limit anything on your graph.

What I said it is very strange you have such a rich legend but so little shown on the graph.

Normally when the value on the graph is 0 (no value at all) it also does not show up as a legend.

ah yes now I can see why my statement seemed like removing data from the the graph. (sorry for confussion)

What I meant more is like you have 28 colours in the legend but your graph shows only 10 colours.

Normally legends are for values that are visible on graph (which I cant understand how come you see such a rich legend).

Normally when you press any element on legend it shall disappear from the graph and shall be crossed out in the legend. Can you see what happens to the graph when you "eliminate" = "cross it out" in the legend the colour that is not in the graph? does it change etc. ?

Ahh, that makes more sense. When I click an element on the legend that is plotted on the chart, it strikes through that item on the legend and the chart updates. When I click an element that is not plotted on the chart, it strikes through that item on the legend, but the chart remains unchanged.
