Barcode Scanning

I want my supervisors to be able to open a form, scan a barcode and have the number associated with that bar code populate in a cell. Is this possible and if so how would one go about implementing that?

if you have the barcode scanner working on the computer open notepad and scan a barcode.

It should see the input like a keyboard and the barcode comes in as * 12345 *

Where the barcode is 12345.. I don't think it has the spaces but this form makes it italics with leading and trailing stars

So that will be the value that goes in the form

Then if you are going to lookup a part description or something you will have to have an if formula take out the leading and trailing *
